Women in Advertising

It’s about time.  Over the last 20 years, I have seen my fair share of marketing campaigns that included a token female athlete or Paralympian.  In some cases, it’s seemed more like a way to curb consumer criticism rather than a proactive effort to drive advertising evolution and inclusion.  It’s inspiring to me to see industry leading executives like The North Face’s Tom Herbst commit to focus more on women in marketing. The  Move Mountains #SheMovesMountains is a campaign highlighting women athletes and encouraging girls to push past their perceived physical limits and be confident, fearless adventurers.

Tommy Hilfiger launched an innovative Spring 2018 Adaptive Collection clothing line for differently-abled kids and adults.  TH has embraced Paralympic athletes in the past and it’s cool to see such an iconic American fashion label advance empowerment and inclusion to the next level.  The US Disability Market represents a disposable income of about $544 billion – smart move Tommy Adaptive.
