Tim Don Stamps His Ticket To 70.3 Worlds

Tim Don traveled all the way to Brazil to try and hang on to his Brasilia 70.3 title. This years race was marked the Latin American 70.3 Championships so a win here would guarantee qualification to 70.3 World Champs in Austria. Ultimately the race boiled down to the two Tims, Don and Boulder pro Tim O’Donnell. Both manged to swim in the front pack, but O’Donnell pushed the bike giving him a 2 minute advantage with a 1:59:03 split. Apparently a 2 minute buffer wasn’t enough as Don ran a 1:13:20 split (vs O’Donnell’s 1:16:20), giving him the win in 3:41:47. Tim combined a 24:25 swim, 2:01:15 bike and a 1:13:20 run to defend his title in Brazil.

1. Tim Don 3:41:47 (GBR)
2. Timothy O’Donnell 3:42:40 (USA)
3. Tyler Butterfield 3:45:48 (BER)
4. Igor Amorelli 3:47:53 (BRA)
5. Santiago Ascenço 3:48:11 (BRA)
