First Cairns, Now Vineman: Crowie Claims Second Place At California’s Classic 70.3
Repeating results from June, Craig “Crowie” Alexander took second place among a large group of pro triathletes at IRONMAN 70.3 Vineman held this weekend in Sonoma County, California.
As in IRONMAN 70.3 Cairns, Crowie finished just minutes behind his fellow Aussie and professional triathlete Sam “Appo” Appleton. Crowie’s time was 3:45:34 with a 22:50 swim, 2:05:13 bike, and 1:13:43 run. His run was the second fastest among the pro division.
“Congrats to Crowie for breaking from the pack for another strong finish. Obviously, Crowie pushed hard for first place just as he did against Appo in Cairns. It will be a lot of fun watching these two Aussie pros at different career stages compete against each other in the future. Craig, who recently turned 42, is old enough to be Sam’s dad, but I reckon they haven’t seen the last of each other on the race course,” said Michael Cardoza of Human Interest Group.
Crowie now returns to Boulder, Colorado for the final two weeks of the Team Bravo Triathlon camp. Crowie is one of eight pro triathletes taking part in the month-long intensive training camp organized by Team Bravo, Sansego, and Professional Triathlon. His coaching company Sansego is providing the training sessions and workshops for the athletes.
Keep an eye out for Crowie’s race plans later this summer.
