Mellow Johnny’s to feature Retul
Lance Armstrong’s newest business venture is more than a just a bike shop geared for elite cyclists, it’s a community oriented project designed to help get more people commuting on bicycles. Named Mellow Johnnys after Armstrong’s nickname ‘maillot jaune’ (yellow jersey)
referring to his complete dominance of 7 consecutive wins in the epic Tour De France, MJ’s will focus on much more than just high-end bikes as it attempts to become a catalyst to transform downtown Austin into a more Portland, OR style cycling community, where 2 wheel rides to work, running errands, etc are more preferred than gas guzzling and polluting cars. Mellow Johnnys will feature bike fit technology by Retul and opens May 5, 2008.
