Mauricio Mendez

Mauricio Mendez

World Champion

Mauricio stormed the Xterra race scene as an 18 year old at the Xterra World Championships, where he took 1st Overall Amateur. His first year as a Pro (2014) did not disappoint, picking up several podiums and laying the bricks for a solid triathlon career as a young pro. Only two years after turning pro, Mendez became the youngest Xterra World Champion. In 2016 as a 20 year old, Mendez picked up four Xterra and one Ironman 70.3 titles. Days after his 21st birthday he took top honors at the World Championships in Maui, followed by another Ironman 70.3 title a week later. Without any doubt, Mendez is a man to watch for many years to come.
