Laura Bennett is the fastest short course female in the United States. Despite injuries leading up to the Beijing Olympics, Laura ran her way to a fourth place finish. A competitive swimmer, Bennett is always one of the first females to emerge out of the water and is the most feared woman in the world if the race comes down to a sprint finish. In June 2007, Laura out-sprinted Annabel Luxford to win the Hy Vee Triathlon in Des Moines, Iowa and secured the richest payday by any female in triathlon history. In late summer of 2009, Laura stepped into her first Ironman 70.3 Triathlon at Augusta and took top honors. She is currently planning a full race schedule in 2010 with some major market Olympic distance races as well as some Ironman 70.3 events.
Bennett currently lives in Boulder, Colorado with her training partner and husband, Greg. ![]() ![]() ![]() America's top Olympic triathlete. Competed at the 2008 Games placing 4th
