Australian triathlete sensation, Craig Alexander, has done what no other triathlete in the world has ever accomplished - Winning both Ironman 70.3 and Ironman World Championships in the same year......and he did it in style. The man known as "Crowie" won the 70.3 World title just 4 weeks ago in Las Vegas and then went on to win the infamous Ironman Hawaii at age 38 (oldest men's winner ever) while breaking the 16 year old course record with a total time of 8:03:56.
"I wish I could tell you how it feels," Alexander said. "It's unbelievable I wish everyone in the world could feel what I felt in the that mile. It's the finish I've been dreaming of." Crowie joins the elite ranks of Mark Allen, Dave Scott, and Peter Reid as the only male to ever win 3 World titles at the Ironman Hawaii. "I'm not shocked that Craig won the race, but I was blown away that he broke the course record," said his manager/agent Franko Vatterott, "I think his performances in 2011 demonstrate that he is perhaps the greatest of all time. I'm very proud of Crowie and the team around him."
